Megan Daic named Director of UHLC Alternative Dispute Resolution Team

We are proud to announce that attorney/owner of Daic Law, Megan Daic, has been named as the new Director of the University of Houston Law Center’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) team.Megan D_screen-6_pp_ps_Crop

For the 2017 – 2018 academic year, the Blakely Advocacy Institute’s ADR team will compete in regional, national, and international competitions, including ABA Client Counseling, Negotiation, and Mediation; Energy Law competition hosted by South Texas College of Law at Houston, and the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition, to name a few.

Over the summer the team gathered for their inaugural ADR Boot Camp, and the ADR team’s coaches will meet in mid-August to train and prepare for the upcoming season.

The UHLC ADR team has made tremendous strides under the direction of Blakely Advocacy Institute Director, Jim Lawrence, and has grown substantially over the years.

All of the coaches are volunteers who spend numerous hours each week throughout the year to help educate, train, and mentor the team members. Without their experience, knowledge, and devotion to empowering these law students, the ADR team would miss out on incredible opportunities to learn from some of the most devoted and accomplished attorneys in Houston.

Beginning in August 2017, Megan Daic, along with attorney Kevin Hedges, will teach an Applied Advocacy course at UHLC geared specifically for ADR team members.

Good luck to the ADR team in the upcoming 2017 – 2018 season!
